The Open Records Act (OCGA 50-18-70): Under current law, public officials must reply to a public inquiry within three business days. All vendors holding contracts must also respond to these requests regarding business done on behalf of government. Federal Regulations on Accessing Student Records
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that was created to provide students certain rights and regards to their educational records. The University’s Records Access/FERPA Policy use FERPA guidelines in complying with educational records access requests.
