Every student who registers for an FLC has a hold placed on his/her record. The hold does not indicate that there is a problem with your account, that you need to take specific actions, or that you do not have classes. It is there to make sure that any change to your schedule is first approved by the Office of Undergraduate Studies. The hold will be removed after the first week of class.
In other words, the Freshmen Learning Hold is in fact a sign that you are registered for an FLC and that you are registered for your classes.

Office of the Dean of Students
There are a variety of reasons why a student might have a hold from the Office of the Dean of Students. These holds could relate to a conduct matter or an item for which there is a need to communicate with a student. The holds below explain how each hold impacts a student:
- Dean of Students - Reg and Grad: Restricts students from registering for classes; allows students to obtain their transcript.
- Dean of Students: Restricts students from registering for classes and obtaining their transcript.
- Dean of Students - Expulsion: Students have been expelled from the university; restricts registering for classes; allows issuance of transcripts.
If you have any questions about the hold, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students, at deanofstudents@gsu.edu or 404-413-1515.
